Memorial Something Or Other

Memorial Day would be exactly one week from tomorrow. So and evidently our world is supposed to celebrate the start of summer. Summer actually begins on the summer solstice and that would be in June. Meteorological summer. But that hardly matters on account of Memorial Day begins that summer spending spree. Summer means a new wading pool. Summer means new bathing suits. Summer means vacation with the family. Plus fuel, meals, and lodging. Summer means more and then more credit card debt. Summer certainly will mean new air conditioners. Except for those simmering people in Houston, Texas. It's a sticky wet sauna down there. A slow boil actually. Houstonians don't have any electricity for the simple reason that one dang raucous storm blew windows out of skyscrapers and took out all the power lines and the structures that hold up those power lines. Meteorologically, there were two dang raucous storms that stuck Houston one on Thursday and then one on Friday. Messed up the Houston area something awful. They have themselves one Texas sized mess. You know cause everything is bigger in Texas. Whatever ... Now with ambient air temperatures climbing into the triple digit territory and ambient humidity even more than that sticky narrative, well, Houstonians aren't really very comfortable or happy. Bummer no doubt. There's really not much anyone can do about the Texas unhappy state of affairs. Maybe Houstonians could get Texas Governor Wheely Abbott to offer Houston some relief but, Houstonians probably shouldn't count on Abbott for anything other than Abbott's personal brand of tyranny. Now for Sunday machine art.

I was in San Antonio one summer day and that was some years back. anyway, it was hot and I mean really hot. humidity made it so you couldn't sweat so, you just wore really hot and wet clothes that made work and life in general a gaddanged sticky misery. 😐
