Beyond News Of The Weird

Dateline Czech Republic and specifically Brno the second largest city of the Czech Republic...

Evidently it just so happens to be the bicentennial of the birth of Gregor Mendel, considered to be the "father of modern genetics." Alrighty then. So the Czech intelligentsia decided to hold a modest celebration of Mendel and his two hundredth birthday. The very best idea the Czech intelligentsia could come up with was to excavate Mendel's remains and test his corpse's DNA. What the f...?!? Dig up a long dead scientist and test his remains for DNA and that's how Czech intelligentsia celebrated Mendel's 1822 birth. ??? Seems more than a mite morbid. Czech intelligentsia discovered that Gregor Mendel had an incredibly large brain. Well...no doubt. The guy was way ahead of the old scientific curve and did experiments that defied explanation for his living times. Hell, it took the rest of humanity two hundred years to catch up with the stuff Mendel was doing a way back when. The Czech guys with their morbid fascinations insist that Mendel would be perfectly comfortable with being dug up and studied. Seeing as how Mendel isn't around to give permission to be violated one way or another, the silly ass insistences of Czech scientists are for the most part moot. So in the first quarter of the twenty first century, absolutely nothing is sacred. Or sacrosanct. Now for the very last installment of machine art for our year 2022.
