The Banality Of Mass Murder

More mass murder. It seems that just about every damn day there's another 'mass shooting' here in Amerika and on this Friday we've got us a verified two-for. A mass shooting in Indianapolis and another in San Antonio. Of course there were any number of murders/shootings that went under the media radar. These days only the best of the best mass murders receive any media attention. For a shooting/murder to qualify for media coverage there needs to be a significant body count, loads of chaos, plenty of late arriving cops and or swat teams, hysteria, ambulances galore, AND sobbing people for the media vampires to pester with endless and pointless questions. What did you see? Were you hurt? Did your friends get hurt? Did you know anyone that was gunned down? Is that a blood stain on your shirt? How many inane questions will you put up with before your punch this media star in the face? Oh I see, you're carrying a Glock so, did you think about shooting the shooter? Do you think that Congress is right or wrong on gun control? Of course all the questioning goes on in front of the cops yellow tape to "isolate" the crime scene. That yellow tape makes for 'good' coverage of the killing field. Chalk outlines on the ground to highlight where the bodies were or just in case the "authorities" haven't yet cleared the scene of the dead, well, the bodies will be covered with a sheet. Damn if that doesn't just make for Pulitzer Prize winning coverage of senseless violence. So it's just another day in cynics paradise and let's not bother with body counts as no one is paying any attention anyway. Have Glock Will Point And Shoot. Click Bang You Dead! No big deal. No consequences. No justice for victims. Plenty of televised bullshit. Blah blah blah... We've reached a point in Amerikan society where if someone moves shoot them. There certainly is enough weaponry and ammunition to go around for every man, woman, and child in Amerika to have and cherish with affection their gun/rifle or whatever. How about a ghost gun you can make in your garage on the weekend and by Monday have the accursed thing locked and loaded so's you can go out and join the endless soft parade of killing. That soft parade kicked off a very long time ago. So don't be late ya hear... This face in palm moment has been sponsored by Smith and Wesson. Guns for everyone!
