I had to visit our friendly and neighborhood Walmart on Saturday afternoon and gosh, I really (?) enjoy Walmart on any afternoon. The thing about Walmart would be the Walmartians that inhabit any Walmart on any afternoon. Be prepared IF you visit a Walmart late on a Saturday afternoon. You'll of course have to dodge fat ladies driving those motorized shopping carts as if Walmart were a NASCAR race track. Then there are the accompanying and various collections of Walmartians that figure it appropriate to visit Walmart looking as if the Walmart was a postmodern version of "Let's Make A Deal." Monty Hall would be ever so proud ... ? What Monty Hall might think about Walmart or the Walmart denizens (those aforementioned Walmartians) will forever be unknowable. Monty Hall is long dead and gone to that great 'Let's Make a Deal' stage in the sky. Of course the program is still in production and with a newer version and a black Monty Hall as "host." If you happen to be a fan of watching curious and odd looking people on parade, well, I recommend Walmart afternoons and be sure to bring along your camera and/or cellphone to capture Walmartians strutting their whatever it might be they've thrown on to head to a nearby Walmart. Yikes and now it's time for Sunday machine art.

I suppose that should a 'great American novel' ever to be written, Walmartians would make for an ideal cast of characters. 😐
