  Hot breaking news flash... A development in particle physics could point to the existence of a new dimension Just think, an entirely new dimension to go with the 3 dimensions we have now. A 4th dimension just may have been discovered by r esearchers at the U.S. Department of Energy's Fermi National Accelerator Lab in Batavia, Ill.  I'm willing to bet that Batavia, Illinois is pretty dang close to Chicago. Could be but I really don't care where Batavia, Ill. might be. Anyway and cutting to the actual chase here, this "new physics dimension" has something to do with 'wobble' and 'spin' and some bullshit about "muon wobble" and therefore this "new possible dimension" is on the SUBATOMIC LEVEL  and therefore this  entire soiree into theoretical hyperbole is, curiously enough, THEORETICAL! Physicists get themselves worked into a lather over the silliest little tiny thingies and they're treading on flimsy scientific evidence. So...

  In an almost Shakespearean tragic letdown, Hurricane Hilary was not much at all. A way out here in the Mojave Desert Northeast Entrance, we got rain but nothing to get hysterical about. If you happen to follow the bozos over at the Weather Channel, you'd think that Hurricane Hilary was "apocalyptic." No "apocalyptic" out here. Dang, don't you just hate a letdown like that? We got all prepared for the "worst event possible" and turns out the sidewalks got wet and the air was a mite humid. Bummer no doubt. California had an earthquake under Ojai and Ojai is northwest of Los Angeles and sort of close to the San Andreas Fault HOWEVER, the quake was a 5.1 magnitude and for Southern California a 5.1 magnitude quake doesn't even raise eyebrows. Angelinos are pretty  bla sé about earthquakes unless the freeways start to collapse and then it's a big deal. The weather talking heads were having fits over Hurricane Hilary and a California earthquake....

  For several days now, all the denizens of Mojave Desert Northeast Entrance have been waiting on Hurricane Hilary. So on Saturday as just like back in 2016, Hilary is a no-show. We got a little rain on Friday but that rain wasn't enough to warrant the planting of sandbags. Weather Service hinted that the serious rainfall would begin on Saturday. So while we waited even more, Vegas got rain. Kingman, Arizona got rain. Cabo San Lucas got lots of rain. Saturday rolls around and we got nada. However, Sunday will be the day that the clouds open up and the rain falls. So says the  National Weather Service. The NWS is hardly ever wrong. Hardly ever at all. We have their very scientific and using the wrong weather models, word on that. I'm not about to break out an umbrella UNLESS it actually commences to rain. As in buckets filled with rain and wet and wind and all the peripheral crap-o-la that accompanies a hurricane. Hell, Cedar City, Utah got rain and they got so m...

  Back in the day and I'm talking about the 'day' before most any reader was a gleam in their daddy's eye, the term "trans" was a shorthand epithet for transvestite.
