A company at Houston Space Port, named Venus Aerospace, is working on a newly designed jet engine that will be capable of achieving Mach 9. Mach 9 is really really fast. Fast as in over 11,000 kilometers per hour. The concept is for a hypersonic aircraft that Venus Aerospace is in the process of developing. Oh yes, and there are currently NO other aviation machines capable of a speed even close to Mach 9. The now retired Lockheed SR-71 called 'Blackbird', could travel at the "admitted to" airspeed of Mach 3.5. The speed 'Blackbird' could actually achieve is still classified. That should come as no surprise as just about all things U.S. military are currently 'classified'. I'm almost surprised that the news of Venus Aerospace's work isn't classified. Not yet anyway. Oh yes, and Houston Space Port is actually Houston, Texas. It isn't surprising that Venus Aerospace is just a wee bit shy of being associated with Texas. Mach 9...dang, I think I'd like to take a spin in that nifty cruiser. I'm pretty certain that I'll be long gone by the time Venus Aerospace brings its hypersonic aircraft online. Dang if'n that don't about suck. Well, there still is machine art and it's here for a Wednesday and the first Wednesday in April no less.
