Slager In The Land Of Zion

I found an article on a local Fox tv station that would be Fox 13 out of Salt Lake City and that's in Utah. I was born in Salt Lake City a damn long time ago, but I still like to keep up with the homeboys. And girls of course. Anyway, the article made mention of Salt Lake Brewing Co. and how the brewing company is "concerned" about the drying and dying Great Salt Lake. Their concern is greatly appreciated. The Great Salt Lake played host to any number of breeding birds like pelicans, ducks of all types, herons, and egrets, and a birding list could run on for quite some distance. However, due to a glaring lack of water management along the lake's tributaries emptying into the Great Salt Lake, the lake is dying. It won't be around for much longer. That is criminally sad.

Back to the beer brewers. The Salt Lake Brewing Co. is creating a new brew and a portion of the sales of the brew will go to help the GSL. The brewers have named their beer 'Save The Lake'. The beer is a pilsner. Back in the days when I drank beer, I preferred lager. That certainly is about meaningless these days. The Salt Lake Brewing Co. SHOULD HAVE named their 'new' beer "Slager." My opinion only. Either way, proceeds of the beer sales will partially go toward preserving the Great Salt Lake. A noble gesture on the part of a beer company. Kudos and now it's time for Tuesday machine art.

I hope somebody in Utah keeps track of Salt Lake Brewing Co.'s remarks about beer sales and proceeds to help a dying Great Salt Lake. 😐
