She Had A Protective Order

 Old news is popping back up in the online cyber-world and the news' resurrection might be in order with it being Easter Sunday. However, stirring an old kettle of fish only highlights the complete failure of "protective orders." Details the devil is always in the details. An Enoch, Utah man shot and killed his wife, their five children, the guy's mother-in-law, and then himself. This happened several months back. You see the wife had filed divorce proceedings on her husband the shooter and her husband the shooter had high regard in the wee tiny town of Enoch, Utah. The family was Mormon of course. Just about all of Southern Utah and in particular Iron County, Utah is Mormon. Anyway, the now-dead wife had started divorce proceedings and had filed for and was granted a "protective order" that was about as helpful (useful?) as teats on a boar hog. The now-dead wife did everything a woman under duress is 'supposed' to do. That whiz-bang "protective order' failed to protect the wife, five children, mother-in-law, and really braveheart husband. Now don't get me wrong here, I fully support the guy's decision to suicide. I DO NOT support the guy's act of murdering his entire family AND his mother-in-law. I've had several mothers-in-law over the years and not one of them deserved to be brutally murdered. I suppose perspective has much to be said for the notion. So for all the ladies out there in similar situations and I can imagine that number would be rather glaring if details of situations were known to the public at large, make plans that are known only to you and those that might be privy to your plans. Don't tell the children. Children aren't very good at keeping secrets. Do NOT trust a system that fails more often than there is help to be had. Free yourselves and DON'T look back. Furthermore, I've been to Enoch, Utah any number of times, and trust me on this, Enoch is one strange if not curiously strange little Mormon enclave. Now for Sunday machine art. I don't really bother with Easter and haven't for a damn long time.
