The Physics Of ... Badminton?

 Did you know that there are actual and for real professional badminton players and those professional badminton players have an actual governing body that decides on rules and equipment and you know ... stuff used playing badminton. Also, this is not the backyard summertime badminton you may have known growing up. I played badminton way back in the day with my sister and neighborhood friends and we took the game as nothing serious and really didn't matter much ... we just had a good time and every so often I could smack the 'birdie' over our backyard fence and have a high old time climbing fence to retrieve said 'birdie'. Sorry I digress just a mite. So back to the physics of badminton. According to the Badminton World Federation, the BWF for short, they've outlawed a serve known as the "spin serve" and that serve is evidently ... impossible to return. Golly, who knew. Well the Chinese evidently take badminton damn serious and China unleashed a team of highly qualified badminton physicists to study the dynamics of the "spin serve" and turns out after lengthy study, calculations, measurements, and you know shit like that there and ... the BWF has outlawed the "spin serve" for good. Just about all professional badminton players are happy with the "spin serve" being outlawed as the "spin serve" is nearly impossible to return and therefore gives the serving badminton server an unfair advantage. Who knew ... well not me and possibly not most everyone else. I did not know that professional badminton was a professional thing with a professional league and a badminton hall of fame and actual invitations to attend the summer olympics and ... the summer olympics? What the fuck ... I think the olympics overall has become mostly a ridiculous joke. There are those that take that shit seriously and I am not one of those. Professional badminton is one reason to write the olympics off as filler and not worth the time it takes to figure out when and where and at what freaking time the games will be televised ... waste of time and money on account of the olympics is a damn pricey proposition these days so ... why bother? Professional badminton ... next olympic sport will be professional corn hole. In the world that I grew up in ... corn hole held a much different connotation. Yes it did. Now for Thursday machine art and watch out for that "spin serve" when and if you're playing ... corn hole.
