Precious ... Really?

Watching an afternoon PBS thingy and the PBS programming kids air a promo for some upcoming program and what you get is Dr Neil deGrasse Tyson remarking that "life is precious." Really? I said to myself knowing full well I'm all by myself. Current world events would indicate, strongly so, that life is cheap. Meaningless. Pointless. Russia displays an utter lack of human compassion while viciously draining blood from Ukrainian citizens. Our world's current ugliest display of utter disdain for human existence would be Israel's slaughter of Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank. Not much is left of Gaza to be rather pointed here. Destroyed utterly would be highlighting the glaringly obvious. Most of our world's nations stand silent and watch as Israel commits war crimes and crimes against Palestinian humanity. Genocide and patricide and matricide and possibly the worst would be Israel's flagrant infanticide on Palestinian children. Palestinian infants are not spared and god ahmighty all of this madness is goddamn hard to witness. How can our world tolerate such brutality? Dr. Neil deGrasse Tyson suggests that "life is precious." I would have to conclude that Dr. Tyson is spouting bullshit. Life is not precious and pretty much life is not precious anywhere around our 'at war' world. Certainly there is no life that might be spared. Pity no doubt.

Now for Friday machine art.

I suppose that with all the misery our world is faced with, someone should step up and attempt to bridge the chasm between horror and an almost tolerable existence. Dr. Tyson makes his attempt and in the end, by making a side by side comparison, well Dr. Tyson comes across as just a shade disingenuous. 😐
