And Dive They Shall

A long overdue cleanup of Lake Tahoe is now underway. The cleanup began on Friday last and will take more or less, six months. To date there has been about 4 tons of garbage and litter pulled from Lake Tahoe. Here's a for real link to all applicable news worthy items -

So far an overwhelming collection of beer cans was to be expected as beer drinkers will usually toss an empty beer can and go back for another. Beer can. Divers are scouring the bottom of Lake Tahoe down to about 50 feet. The divers doing cleanup will need serious diving gear to clean up the bottom of Lake Tahoe any deeper. Lake Tahoe is really really really deep. The cleanup is mostly focused on the shores of the lake and out to the not quite so deep part of the lake. Divers have found beer cans, bottles, fishing poles, an old boat or two, outboard motors, buckets filled with cement and that's a story all in and of itself, awning, an airplane wing, two rather old Desotos, and no the body of Fredo Corleone hasn't been found. Not yet anyway. Humans and especially Amerikan humans are freaking slobs. Can't be bothered with a trash bag, nope, just toss your crap out wherever one might be standing while finishing off that tasty can of Coors. Or sandwich wrapper. Whatever. Freaking slobs. Anyway and just about lastly, kudos to the divers and all their support teams for undertaking a herculean job. Lake Tahoe is a pretty dang large body of water and it's a natural body of water and not a reservoir. Of course Lake Tahoe has been Californized on the California side of the lake and Vegasized on the Nevada side of the lake. Lake Tahoe straddles both the Nevada and California border so Lake Tahoe is a borderline body of water. Okay and let us move on to the really really really important crap...machine art.
