All Fridays...

 For the month of May, Fridays are over and done with. Yup. No more Fridays. There will be one more Saturday, Sunday, and one last Monday. Of course that last Monday will be Memorial Day. Memorial Day has lost some of its original glory as the holiday has been watered down, soaked with beer, and held to be oh so popular with retailers. Memorial Day was originally a day for laying flowers on the graves of people that have died and especially all those that have died giving service to the U.S.. These days Memorial Day is a day to buy a new car. Or a mattress. Or offer prayers to NASCAR. Or the Indy 500. I'd be willing to bet that fully 60% of all Amerikans think that Memorial Day is a holiday created for the sole purpose of getting a day off from work and so with Memorial Day being celebrated on the last Monday in May, the holiday is a three day weekend and damn if that's not the important part. Contrary to what beer brewers would have Amerika believe, Memorial Day was not created for the consumption of beer. Highway Patrols all across this beer swilling nation are reminding drivers not to drink and drive. That drinking and driving rule doesn't simply apply to beer drinkers. Nope. Wine drinkers and variously assorted other winos are given the same caution about driving as are beer drinkers. Goodness me, people that imbibe shouldn't have to be reminded not to drink and drive. Everybody knows the law, or should know the don't drink and drive law, but people figure that after "just one drink" they are perfectly capable of driving safely. People that think they are just fine after one drink are impaired already. Of course people are going to drink and drive and that is exactly why state troopers and other law enforcement types will be out on Amerika's roads pulling people over and then sending those 'only had one drink' people to the drunk tank. A sober visit with a judge will follow very soon after one clears the drunk tank. Okay so there's a holiday tip and let us now move on to the machine art segment of todays program.
