There have been 147 mass shootings this year, according to the Gun Violence Archive, which defines a mass shooting as when four or more people have been shot or killed, not including the shooter.
The U.S. was wracked by a record high 610 mass shootings in 2020, the most of any year since the organization began tracking the number in 2014. (remember that Amerika was locked down because of the Covid)
This year, the U.S. is on pace to have 511 mass shootings—more than any year between 2014 and 2019—though mass shootings are historically more likely to occur during the latter half of the year, meaning the rate could increase.
In 2019, there were 417 mass shootings, up from 337 in 2018.
Nearly 20,000 Americans died from gun violence in 2020, more than any year in two decades in what was the highest one-year jump in homicides since the U.S. began keeping records in the 20th century, according to the Washington Post, while about 24,000 died by suicide using a gun.
The U.S. is currently on pace for about as many Americans to die from gun violence as last year, with 5,415 killed so far. From Forbes magazine here's the link -

However and this is the really important part, GUNS ARE NOT THE PROBLEM!
Oh bullshit. Guns ARE the problem. Every damn insane idiot in our blessed Amerika has access to guns, rifles, assault rifles, and ammunition that absolutely have nothing to do with sport shooting or hunting. Amerikans are adept at killing one another with guns. And remember, guns do not kill people. Yeah right. It's those godawful bullets fired from guns or rifles that kill people. You see, bullets will not kill people in and of themselves. Nope. It takes a goddamn gun or rifle firing bullets that kill people so the entire issue of guns and mass shootings is a bit of a circular firing squad or clusterfuck if one prefers. Congress refuses to address the issue. The sacrosanct 2nd Amendment argument is ridiculous. The 2nd Amendment is more than a little convoluted and the Supremes (ths U.S. Supreme Court) will not now and possibly never address the constitutionality of the Amendment. The Supremes would rather have blood on their hands than any mud they might have to wash off in translating one muddled Amendment. Oh well, innocent men, women, AND children will continue to be gunned down in cold blood for the simple rationales that gravitate around guns and who can or cannot have a gun. If even one congressional official in the House or the Senate were to go nut up and manage to get a gun into the chambers of our legislative branch of government and shoot lights out on our "dear leaders" well there would be gun legislation passed out of the Congress so fast that particles traveling at the speed of light would get run over by accelerating legislation. Yes my friends this is a brave (?) new world of death. Be careful going out and about today as there hasn't been a mass murder yet to be reported. Not yet...
