It's almost like deja vu all over again. A way back in the last century, America the wonderful was fighting a communist take over of Vietnam. America the not so great was getting pounded by the North Vietnamese/VietCong and after clearer heads prevailed in the Nixon administration, getting the hell out of Vietnam was the prevailing strategy. The last bastion of American corruption in Vietnam was the South Vietnam city of Saigon. Saigon was the capitol of South Vietnam. Anyway and so Saigon was surrounded by the North Vietnamese/VietCong (loving referred to as the 'VC' and there were other names for the VietCong but we'll leave that alone for now) and the U.S. military braintrust decided it might be a good idea to get the fuck clear of Saigon. Thus began a military airlift to get remaining Americans and Vietnamese "friends" of the U.S. out of Saigon and Vietnam altogether. In U.S. military jargon the authorized retreat from any besieged city is called a "bug out!" Especially when the U.S. is losing so badly that retreat is the ONLY option left for the U.S. military braintrust. A "bug out" order means grab you shit and beat feet ASAP. So the U.S. military left Vietnam behind and the rest is debated history. Vietnam today is a happy communist country and there is no longer a North/South Vietnam. Nope. Just the one mended and almost healed nation. However Laos and Cambodia are to this day dealing with the ancillary damages caused by the 'war in Vietnam'. So here it is the almost middle of the twenty first century and America finds itself quagmired in Afghanistan in another stupid and ill-conceived war in "that part" of the world that can't seem to get along without the U.S. or whomever, working a bloody "intervention" that just about and historically NEVER does what military minds intended in the first place. "Six more months and America will have fixed Afghanistan." Gosh that sounds like a recurring theme of bullshit spit out by, and you may have guessed it, American military minds that are basement level stupid. G. W. 'dubya' Bush got America in the Afghaniscam mess and Joe Biden is going to get America out of the longest war in American reworked several times over history. The Afghaniscam war began mere days after the horror of September 11, 2001. Yes my friends it has been twenty years almost to the day that America waded in to Afghaniscam to 'avenge those lost' on 9/11/01. Obviously the Afghaniscam war of naked aggression did NOT go according to plan and so, it's "bug out" time once again. President Biden is sending 3,000 battle hardened U.S. troops through the gates of Afghan hell to evacuate State Department/CIA spooky boys and "friends" of the U.S. involvement and those would be Afghans already targeted by the 'Taliban' to be executed for collaborating with the Americans. There you see? Deja vu all over again. In my lifetime, America had to get the hell out of Korea. Then came Bay of Pigs Cuba. Then and of course Vietnam. Along the way, there were also any number of American proxy wars. Angola comes to mind right off. America has always lived by the motto, if at first you don't succeed keep killing people until somebody cries "enough already." I mean it isn't like these missteps cost America anything. Well and except the soldiers killed or worse than killed and that would be of course maimed. Ain't nothing but an arm or leg or an arm and a leg or two arms and a leg or two arms two legs and half a face... goddamn this Nation can be really REALLY cavalier if not fucking stupid on an international scale. Oh yes and I forgot about the Balkan War. America has Bubba Clinton to thank for that little fuck up. Okay and now let us slow crawl our way to the machine art. Sans the bloodshed. Please god please let the blood letting cease and desist.
