Louisiana is set to become a 'sanctuary state' for producers of gas, oil, and all those really icky byproducts that are standard fare from refineries. Wyoming is set to do the same with an emphasis on coal. Yes, coal is still a thing in postmodern twenty-first century world. Utah legislators are considering the same move but making Utah a 'sanctuary state' for guns is their top priority. I believe that Montana is ready to jump the old carbon based shark as would North Dakota, South Dakota, and Nebraska. Nebraska you ask? Oh yeah Nebraska. Nebraska has a slice of that bullshit Keystone Pipeline deal. Which by the by is on court ordered hold. Also Kansas, Missouri, and Illinois are part and parcel. On first draft I mindlessly left out all the "participants." Can't be a having that now can we. Aw...jeepers, the dummies can't build their gas pipeline. That pipeline runs out of Canada and cross the U.S. all the way to Louisiana. Yes that ever so carbon based vigilant, Louisiana. I'm willing to bet that legislators in the whiney like little babies states enacting the 'sanctuary' moniker haven't a clue as to what, exactly, sanctuary might define as. Let's take a sneaky peek at what a dictionary has to say on the word...
sanc·tu·ar·y| ˈsaNGk(t)SHəˌwerē | noun (plural sanctuaries) 1 a place of refuge or safety: his sons took sanctuary in the church | people automatically sought a sanctuary in time of trouble. 2 [usually with modifier] a nature reserve: a bird sanctuary. 3 a holy place; a temple or church: the sanctuaries of Apollo and Athena. • the inmost recess or holiest part of a temple or church: the inner sanctuary where the reliquary was kept. • the part of the chancel of a church containing the high altar
As you can see, the definition doesn't say squat about coal, gas, natural gas, oil and all those nasty oil derived byproducts. Of course there is the "modifier" clause and once more I'm willing to bet that all those precocious legislators haven't a clue as to what a "modifier" might be. I should be consistent here -
mod·i·fi·er| ˈmädəˌfī(ə)r | noun a person or thing that makes partial or minor changes to something: mood modifiers like Valium and Lithium. • Grammar a word, especially an adjective or noun used attributively, that restricts or adds to the sense of a head noun (e.g. good and family in a good family house). • Genetics a gene which modifies the phenotypic expression of a gene at another locus. So as you can see here legislators all across this here Amerika are in need of a mood modifier. A little blue Valium pill conjoined with some Lithium will help the Amerikan legislative process slide comfortably into irrelevance which is where the entire fucked up Amerikan legislative process needs to be placed. Somewhere pharmaceutically modified and out of mind. You know, out of sight out of mind? Yeah whatever. Rational behavior has never been a concern for just about any of the 50 state legislatures that muck around on the loony side of psychotic. Okay and enough with dreams of a fair and equitable future America. History will teach us that equitable and rational don't count for beans. On to the Sunday version of Image Manipulation For Fun And Profit. Yeah yeah sure sure...I think therefore -
