Splashdown

They're back ... to the moon Alice and, back from the moon. At least I am assuming they've made it back safely (they did). The return from space for any manned space vessel is dang near as dangerous as would be the launch. Heading into space astronauts are sitting on top of one really massive firecracker where one little thing comes up a crapper and it's all over. On a return, the can that holds our intrepid space pioneers has to withstand re-entry to Earth's atmosphere and the very real space fire fall that the astronauts are hoping their can will hold up to temperatures in excess of melt your face off really white ouch oh yes ouchy ouch hot dang hot. Something about heat shields and re-entry and everything has to hold up to engineered design or the incineration is so intense there isn't even much left in the way of ashes. Remember what happened to Space Shuttle Columbia. All that was found were tiny little pieces of unidentifiable bits. Burned crispy bits. So that's all for now with splashdown set for about 5:00 p.m. PDT Friday April 10, 2026, by Saturday the crew of astronauts will be in the history/record books and dang if'n that ain't about cool. Saturday machine art is up right about now.

America's astronauts got to see the dark side of our moon and no one besides the Chinese have managed that stunt ... 😏
