The wife and I were out and restocking our doggy food supplies on Saturday morning. First off we visited the nursery. The wife is looking for plants that can thrive in our desert and that's on account of the agave plants we had got some manner of bug infestation and the dang bugs killed our agaves. BASTARDS!!! The bugs and not the agaves. Anyway, I found a quite nice hummingbird figurine for my Mary and bought it. My xmas shopping begins. Anyway the dog food shop is next on our list and our dog certainly does like to head for the dog food shop and get doggy kibbles and meats. Boring details no doubt. So after the doggy food shop we head for our domicile and as we're cruising for the hood, there's this odd looking man wearing clown pants and posting a sign on the corner of one of our really busy streets. The corner is across the highway from a Walmart. So...yeah, busy is the ticket. Anyway, the odd looking man wearing clown pants is installing a banner/sign/poster thingy on aforementioned corner and he's unfolding the banner he's intent on putting up and the banner reads and I'm quoting here, "God Save America." Oh crap...another evangelical idiot posting his histrionic perception of what needs to happen in America. I had to wonder exactly which 'god' the guy referencing here and why not Canada or Mexico or Brazil or Ukraine. It seems to me that IF there really is a 'god' and IF this 'god' gives a shit about human suffering and pain, well, wouldn't this 'god' intercede in the Russian illegal war of naked aggression on Ukraine? Wouldn't this 'god' intercede for the migrants trying and dying to cross the highly controversial border with America and Mexico? I'm thinking that IF there really is a 'god', shouldn't that 'god' intercede and save America and the American people from assholes like Mr. Clown Pants? From the hypocritical and bullshit supreme evangelicals? How about saving America from our corrupt and obscene Supreme Court? Possibly a caring and concerned 'god' might intercede and smite donny 'the golden turd' trump and his throughly insane trumpers. How about the Bush regime war criminals? An "existing god" couldn't be concerned with the Bush Co. wars of naked aggression on Afghanistan and Iraq and what about the illegal torture of the sorry bastards kept like animals at Guantanamo Camp Delta Xray or the Abu Ghraib prison in Baghdad, Iraq? There are existing and in the public domain actual photographs of the torture of human beings at that accursed and illegal in the extreme prison! Abu Ghraib. So 'god save America' is somewhat disingenuous if not utterly ridiculous and offensive. Now how about we switch venues and post up the Sunday machine art. That is IF any aforementioned 'god' wouldn't mind too terribly much.
