Aunty Semite

 Did you know that Palestinians are Arabs and by extension, Palestinians are Semitic people. According to a google search, "semite" the word and term are way out of date. That seems more than curious as the epithet 'anti-semite' or 'anti-semitic' gets used a lot these days. Well, the epithet has been used for years by Israelis/Jews to label ANYONE that gets critical of the state of Israel and/or Jews in particular. For a quick read on the epithet of 'anti-semitic' read up on one Abe Foxman. Evidently it seems perfectly acceptable to label someone as "anti-semitic" for criticism of Israel. However, Jews will disavow being Arab at the drop of a hat. By the old google search, Arabs are semitic people and Jews are semitic people and Assyrians are semitic people and Samaritans (?) are semitic people and dang if'n this list doesn't go on for some length. Of course Palestinians are Arab and therefore are Semitic people. DISCLAIMER - I have NEVER uttered an unkind word or taken any negative position regarding Palestinians. So how could I possibly be "anti-semitic" or an "anti-semite"? I've worked with any number of Palestinian people over the years and we always got along famously. I have worked with any number of Jewish people over the years and well, that is an all together different story. I make no judgment here. Just personal historical record and that is all. I find the political hypocrisy surrounding the dust up between Hamas and Israel to be outrageous and detrimental to our global mental health. that and the health of ALL semitic people. 😐
