Grab Hold Of Your Butt

And hold on tight. It's avalanche season a way out here behind the Zion Curtain. Yup. Storms have brought occasional snowfall to the Wasatch Range, be that ever so infrequent, and as the ambient air temperature gets warm with each passing day the snow melts a bit and then more of that infrequent snow and PRESTO! The perfect meteorological excuse for an avalanche. There have been almost 360 of those ever so annoying avalanches this winter and that's a lot of dang avalanches even for this part of our winter world. The weather guy on television stated that fact as of last night. The actual number of avalanches. So there you go. Avalanches are in abundance but will the faithful skier/snowboarder/snowmobiler take heed of the warnings? Hell no. The local weather journalists along with the National Weather Service's Avalanche Warning Center keep issuing warnings to stay the hell out of Utah's backcountry and the dummies just keep on testing fate and getting buried in wet concrete-like snowy tombs. On an unrelated note, the Avalanche Warning Center has this local "authority on avalanches" guy that wears a topknot. Hair is cut short all around his head but he sports a topknot that just looks stupid. He's a white guy and a bit graying around the edges wearing a topknot. Of course the guy can wear his hair any way he likes. But a topknot? Topknots are not exactly the style to be aging gracefully in the wearing. It does take all kinds to make a world. Oh sorry I digress. Where were we? Oh yeah avalanches. With the winter 20/21 not being anywhere close to normal for winter time a way out here, the weather authorities still haven't made any mention of climate change which is EXACTLY why this 20/21 winter has been so unusual. Here in the Valley of the Ain'ts, this winter has been mild and quite comfortable. For a winter anyway. With our world's climate being mostly unnatural, we should probably start getting winter by about May 2021. I'm really glad I've got my snowblower all primed, gassed, and ready. Yup. On to machine art and stuff.
