Immolation

 An Air Force airman pulled a protest in front of the Israelite Embassy in Washington, D.C. on Sunday February 25, 2024 and surprise ... that was yesterday. Anyway and steering clear of any comedy here, the airman dosed himself in gasoline, pulled the trigger on his Bic lighter and went up in a ball of flame. Further details are scant and might appear today with today being Monday of course. Airman Flames was rushed to a Washington, D. C. hospital where the guy is in extremely critical condition. Back in the 1960's and in Vietnam occasionally a Vietnamese Buddhist monk would dose themselves in gasoline and then strike a lighter and whoosh ... up in flames. American media at the time being ABC, CBS, and NBC would dutifully report on incinerated monk and air video of the monk going up in flames. Usually around dinner time where all the family could watch with enraptured fascination as a monk barbecued himself for the world to watch and the monk's sacrifice was glossed over as irrelevant. Blaise being key to the reporting. Walter Cronkite would announce to America, "that's the way it is ... " Mom would serve up dessert and off we'd go for more outside time. I think that the airman, if he survives, will have some serious explaining to do to his company commander. No doubt. Now for some Monday machine art and that's the way it is.
