The elected members of our U.S. Congress are paid handsomely for the little the corrupt fools manage to do on any given day. The United States Senate, the United States House of Representatives receive more than ample compensation for sitting on committees, listening to boring as humanly possibly mind numbing speeches, wasting America's time on the legislative floor of the House and the Senate, then biting the American's peoples hand that put these recidivist assholes in office in the first place. Members of Congress get free air travel to and from home districts to Washington, D.C., the most fancy ass health insurance possible to receive in America at no cost, all expenses paid travel perks that are loving known as 'junkets', AND the rancid freaks will bitch up a streak when they have to make an accounting of themselves come re-election season. That re-election season is on full bore as this is a presidential election year so all members of the House will need to stand for re-election, one third of the Senate will need to re-up for Senate membership, and of course America's president will have to face an ugly United States electorate that seems on the verge of a civil war-like nervous breakdown. So the year of 2024 AND the Chinese year of the dragon are off to a less than stellar start and shit will only get deeper as our year progresses onward toward the first Tuesday in November 2024 and given how federal elections seem to unfold as our present epoch grinds on, well, we're likely to be having us one grand old time if not an outright call to arms. the "senate" failed on Wednesday to pass an immigration bill the appeared from an actual bi-partisan crafting of legislation that was announced as a "done deal." it wasn't so ... more bi-partisian bickering to enlighten we the people'. 😐
