Hot! Hot hot hot...! Summertime is here. There's not much anyone can do about that. Tomorrow will be the official meteorological start of summer. Officially that day is known as the summer solstice. You see, when the Planet Earth's axis tilts so that our sun's photonic bombardment is at full blast, that is 'summer solstice'. Additionally, our Planet Earth begins to reverse tilt its orbital fixation and we head toward the autumnal equinox. Astronomically, the Earth's orbit is measured in quarters. So one quarter starts at the vernal equinox and that would be the beginning of spring. Next up would be the summer solstice and that's where we're at right about now. THEN, we slide to the autumnal equinox and that would be autumn. Go figure. Then it's a slippery slope that winds up at the winter solstice and that is just about Christmas time. Merry christmas everyone. That ought to be about enough meteorological blah blah blah. Now for Tuesday machine art.
an antelope named Annie (get it? Annie...lope?)* -
narcissistic heron(?) -
bridge -
coyote -
* - footnote frame of reference, Annie-lopes would be a western play on words. I never indicated that names and places would be accurate both geographically or grammatically. news note from the Mojave...we're having an unusually mild start to summer a way out here in the desert. we haven't hit 100 degrees Fahrenheit and not yet. I am NOT complaining. The serious heat will make its appearance soon enough. 😐
