Whoopee We're All Gonna Die

Scary news just making the headlines on Tuesday, back in December a United Airlines flight out of Maui, Hawaii and headed for San Francisco and about one minute after takeoff the plane made an unscripted and frightening plunge towards the Pacific Ocean. The aircraft plunged towards the ocean for about 21 seconds that must have seemed like four or five hours. The aircraft lost more than half its altitude and dropped to within about 775 feet of the Pacific. Pilots were able to gain control of the descending aircraft and the flight continued on to San Francisco without further incident. The pilots found it necessary to change their pants and passengers were lined up to use the plane's lavatory. Why this tale of heroic piloting is just now making the news is a mystery. The FAA is "investigating." I can imagine they are no doubt. After touching down in San Francisco the pilots, crew, passengers all en masse began simultaneously kissing the good earth and several of the crew and passengers vowed to never no never get in an airplane again. Ever. I can imagine there was the distinct odor of urine pervasive throughout the plane cockpit and passenger cabin. The flight was surely one to remember for everyone concerned. 21 seconds of free fall...dang! Now for Wednesday machine art.
