Campi Flegrei, a volcano just a snidge west of Naples, and that'd be Italy and Naples is where Vesuvius went kaboomies on Pompei and Herculaneum back in the day and the Napoletani are more than a mite blasé about the whole volcano thing and therefore if'n it ain't happened yet we gots not a thing to worry about so there. Yep the Napoletani are casually cool as any suave Italian might tell you. Or not. Depending on the mood, the weather, who won the last football match, who won the last jai alai tourney, or whatever. Napoletani are resigned to their fate. Which and given the recent studies on volcanism, earthquakes, ground swill, magma chambers, and the lot well ... won't be too much longer in geologic terms before the Campi Flegrei blows all of Naples including all the Napoletani smooth off'n the Planet and there will be much shrieking, wailings, wringing of hands, and tormented cries to Mother Mary seeking her divine guidance and how abouts returning all those Napoletani to the area. Of course there really won't be much "area" to return to other than one really and incredibly gigantic volcanic caldera seething, smoking, spewing lava all over everywhere and end of the tales of Napoletanis brave stand against the forces of Mother Earth. So and in conclusion ... bummer for Napoletani and the raining of ashes and embers of toasted Napoletani will rain all over Greece and that will give the Greeks something to whine about for days. Now for Monday machine art. No volcanos here but that could change without notice in a geologic blink.

there are several inactive, for now anyway, volcanos just a spittin' distance to the north and east of where I'm at and there are layers upon layers of volcanic stuff all over just about everywhere. a rather recent inclusion in geologic time frame is a volcano named the Veyo Volcano, there's a highway just on the east side of the volcano so's you can drive right by it and have a good long look at what was, what is, and what might be sooner than anyone thinks possible, so drop by and take a lookit and just north on the Veyo Highway is a little shack that sells some of the best pies you'll find anywhere on our Planet. the Veyoans are quite proud of their volcano AND their dang fine pies. try the volcano vanilla lahar it's to die for ... almost literally ... 😏
