snotty little brat

have you ever witnessed a two year old, in a store maybe, pitching a screaming fit while the kid's mother looks on hapless and helpless in the face of a whirling hissing spitting with kicking child attracting the attention of everyone in the store? it's damn annoying. all the while thinking that the snotty little brat needs a good yank up off the floor and a solid smack across the child's fanny. back in the "good old days" a performance such as that would get you caught up short and kicked in the ass. or maybe a swat across your bottom with a belt. damn if people wouldn't just freak the fuck out over something like that happening in today's politically correct world. certainly some overly nosy church lady would call the local cops and register a complaint about 'child endangerment with physical abuse'. oh and then there would be questions and paperwork and visits with 'Child Protective Services' and the distinct possibility the child could end up in foster care. on account of the little fucker pitching a fit. all that doesn't seem proportional. okay and so there's the metaphor for today. the descriptive is really about how visitors from somewhere...out there...would view Planet Earth. alien visitors dropping by to say hello or some such fictional nicety, and then the visitors catch an actual and real time look at our Planet. crass, noisy, rude, raucous, violent, smelly, dirty, and certainly not open to any visitors from outer space. hell, immigrants can't even catch an opening in the amerika let alone somewhere that is a snidge more unwelcoming of visitors. were an alien space craft to settle in orbit around our lovely blue orb, well, nukes would start flying up to orbit to proffer the Earth's version of 'KEEP AWAY NO TRESPASSING!" the flat earth anti-masker klanvangelicals would go absolutely ape-shit hysterical. the religious types would be left wondering how it was that "jesus had forsaken them." if you step back and imagine the scene, well, it is rather comical. all that is the setup for today's experimental machine art and an actual NASA image of this rather noisy and histrionic Planet Earth. yup, an actual NASA image. go figure. stuff will follow the NASA graphic.
