 Why we can't have nice things ... short answer is ... trumpf. Of course the legitimacy of election 2024 has never been examined and why is that? A complete and honest canvassing of the election counts and the systems used to record all that election crap has never not once been exacted. Remember the election 2000? That's the election that gave us George W Bush courtesy of the Supreme Court that robbed then Vice President Al Gore of the election that turns out Gore won. Canvas every and any election so we the people can know for a certainty who actually won an election. Remove the Electoral College from ALL reference in the Constitution and wherever else that obscene bullshit of a writ might rear its partisan head and make all federal elections to be decided by popular vote. Of course that may well be determined IF America has any further elections. Given the cancer that is trumpf and the republicunts in Congress and the Supreme Court, well, maybe we shall or maybe we shall not have further elections. Yes this war of illegalities and flagrant violations of the 4 Geneva Conventions is solely because the Butcher of Beit Hanoun informed trumpf that the U.S. "needs" to obliterate the nation of Iran from off the face of this Earth. Netanyahu can do that as for some screwy ass reason, the trumpf will bow and scrape before Netanyahu and Russia's Putin. The only two souls on this island Earth that trumpf is sorely afraid of. Curious no doubt. So in other more prescient news, the Orion astronauts are heading for our moon aboard the "Integrity" capsule and they've begun the process of taking images of our moon and Earth for study and for making really keen wallpaper dealies for computers. I mean why else would NASA spend a couple of billion dollars just to get the astros to our moon and back if it weren't for wallpaper images taken up close and moon personal. Yep. So triple AAA basketball finals are set for this weekend and possibly there may be some golf which in either case is filler and distraction from the war on Iran that trumpf and his dumb really dumb asshat over at the "department of flagrant war crimes" and that would be petey 'supremacist' hogshit, so there's all manner of crap to watch on the tube if you happen to be into crap like that. I've given up on television altogether and I don't miss it at all. Go figure. Now for Saturday machine art. Go get that moon Orion astros.

Quite The Show

 I've followed NASA launches ever since I was knee high to an Atlas 5. Telstar was my first and fired my love of science, science fiction, Heinlein, Asimov, Clarke, Vonnegut, P.K. Dick, and of course Douglas Adams and Kilgore Trout. Probably my favorites but I've left off some and that's probably inexcusable. My bad of course. I made most of the Saturn 5 launches my personal venue for out of this world excitement and Aldrin, Armstrong, and Collins helped fire my imagination for walking on the moon. Fun times up until the Challenger disaster which I was watching with my youngest child. Live up close and personal. Young'un asked me, "what's happened dad?" All I could say was, "it blew up." We never spoke of it again. Probably a really bad thing. How does a child cope with national tragedy. But then how about Palestinians and their children. God damn that has got to be personal agony the likes of which most people will never know. I know but that's not much salve for still painful psychological wounds. Only one of a good many. Anyway, I do love me some NASA launches and Wednesday nights launch was a doozy. So by now the quartet of astronauts are heading for our moon and they are carrying hopes and dreams of not just me but any number of young dreamers in and around our tiny Planet Earth. Our Earth looks very different seen from space. There will of course be images taken by the astronauts looking back at the Earth from the moon and that is as it should be. To Infinity And ... Read, The Moon

Won't be long now ... as I'm pounding the old keyboard in hopes of winding the screed up just before launch. Launch of the Artemis II happens in about 45:00 minutes and so that would be about maybe a quarter past 15 hundred hours and that would be exactly and in Pacific Daylight Savings Time ... 3:20 p.m. ish and maybe ... here's hoping. I regularly watched just about every NASA launch since about 1963 and I was ringside for Neal Armstrong taking that first giant leap for mankind on the moon. A thing of beauty. So I'm switching back and forth from screen to NASA Artemis screen than back to blog and so ... my interests are divided. So I'm switching over to the Thursday machine art and then it's back to watching NASA.
